Grisailles 

These paintings are done using a technique I have generally reserved, as most artists do, for the underpainting of a full colour end product.  In the past the response to this early stage of my process has tempted me to leave the painting at just this point of development but my vision for the piece seemed to be abandoned.  So here I have actually set out to start and stop at the grisaille.
